All our shoes are tested in a laboratory in a machine that provides a level of traction, with a score between 0 and 1 (0 = no traction, 1 = very good traction).
This simulates the movement we can have on a smooth boat deck that is wet with salt water. It measures the ability of the shoe to hold onto that surface until it slips.
The Sailing 100 model is rated 0.78/1, which represents a very good level of traction in the sailing market.

Traction; usage tests

The Sailing 100 model has been tested and validated throughout its design phase by the Tribord sailing team in calm to variable sailing conditions (choppy water, small swell, average wind speed of force 5), in warm and sunny weather (average outdoor temperature of 25°C). These tests on the level of traction during use were carried out mainly on a Figaro and an Open 5.70, in different positions (helmsman, pitman, trimmer, midbowman).
